Can I Connect the Negative Output of a MEAN WELL Power Supply to Earth Ground?

Power Supplies Australia was recently contacted by a customer who wanted to know if he could connect the negative output of a MEAN WELL MPM series power supply to earth ground?

 The customer also wanted to know if he could connect together the negative outputs from 2 or 3 power supplies with different voltages before connecting them to earth ground.  

The answer to this question is yes, you can connect the negative output to earth. And, yes, you can connect the negative output from three power supplies together and then to earth. 

What you can’t do is connect the positive leads together.
