Mounting Instructions for MEAN WELL Battery Chargers
You can mount your MEAN WELL battery charger any way you like – up, down, left, right – no problem.
However, there are a couple of things to think about.
Firstly, the battery charger should be mounted where the outside air cannot get to the charger.
Don’t mount them in the “boot” of a caravan*, which is mounted outside and has a lid.
You may think this is weatherproof, but these “boots” have a drain hole in the bottom, so moisture, dust, insects, etc. can get sucked into the battery charger by the fan, which could potentially lead to the failure of the charger due to moisture ingress.
The second thing to consider is the wiring to the battery. There should be some sort of isolation switch between the charger and the battery so that you can easily and safely disconnect the charger if necessary.
